This piece captures the delicate “picking of a flower”, representing reaping rewards at the end of a long journey that started with pressing a seed into earth’s fertile soil. But along the way, we have evolved, moving away from an appreciation of earth’s bounty to being in awe of technological prowess from human ingenuity–reflected in the blending of modern patterns and violet hues across the hand in place of the earthlier tones and design in the piece, “Roots”. This piece asks us: How does natural beauty, ancient tradition, human innovation, and contemporary technology adapt which forms of 
beauty and fulfillment we value?
